Dentist

Never fun, but nothing bad either, just general teeth cleaning.

To reward myself I went to spinning night, though. It’s been something like a year since I had my spindle out. I was surprised how well it went. I spun up quite a bit of undyed merino. No clue yet what I’m going to do with it.

I’ve finally got my new PR card. Had to get up early to pick it up. I accompanied the tiger on his way to work for part of the way. Just when I was leaving the bus downtown I ran into a neighbor who was headed into the same general direction. Nice chat. :o)

Afterwards I treated myself to some breakfast and a huge caramel coretto at the Second Cup and then headed over to KnitKnackers for some Araucania Ruca I’ve been coveting for some time. Yummy stuff that.

Interconnections

I’m always amused and unaccountably surprised when people I met in areas totally unrelated to any kind of fiber activity, suddenly pop up on ravelry. The intarwebz – they’z cool.

in the scrumptiousness that is Fiberfest.

These two were guarding the door:

But I managed to sneak past them with my loot:

Couldn’t wait.

Had to cast on the sample mittens. Aaaah, illicit knitting time. How I love thee.

I agreed to knit sample mittens for a designer

… and the yarn arrived today. It is KnitPicks Felici Boardwalk. Very funky. And unexpectedly soft and snuggly.

Finished my swap shawl:

I love the pattern. I need to get my hand on some Araucania Ruca (It drapes stunningly), and then I’ll make one for myself as well.

I’ll be teaching crochet

My LYS had been looking for a teacher and asked me if I can give classes. Exciting stuff that. Now I have to plan a six-weeks course.

The taping of drywall has started in the laundry room, and I’m busy checking pictures of other people’s dyeing studios to get ideas. This is going to be so awesome.
